How's it going?  ^_^

It's been a long time since I've been on itch.io! If you don't know me, my name's Isabelle--but I'm Amaiguri basically everywhere online. I'm a professional Game Designer at Serenity Forge (Doki Doki, Neversong, Death's Gambit, Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, etc.) and an alumnus of DigiPen Institute of Technology and the Wizards of the Coast Intern program. I previously designed, developed, and wrote for Little Burned Maiden (which can be played HERE) and now, I am very excited to announce Little World of Fates! 

I started building LWOF at the mid-point of my Senior year, while I was a Teacher's Assistant in a TTRPG Design class. I was inspired by my students and by the amazing lectures (shout out to Eric Cagle!) And I have always wanted to make a TTRPG for my world. It's such a good way to share my world with my friends! However, when I tried to do that back in 2016 with my 6th World using D&D, it really missed the heart of what my world was about -- Turns out, Vancian magic doesn't work well with spiritual, low-power magic systems and singular plane, perma-death worlds.

So with LWOF, I started from the ground up. I asked myself, "What sort of stories do I want to tell?" Politics. Factions. Interpersonal relationships. And a small handful of fantasy battles. I wanted combat to be simple and streamlined -- Diplomacy is the conflict engine of LWOF. But I've never been an excellent systems designer... so I brought on my good friend, Jay (who will introduce herself on here shortly!) to do systems, economy, AND design the monsters for the ecology expansion! (I mean, I took the dungeon crawling out of the Default TTRPG TM when I designed the diplomacy and faction-building... so I might as well make an expansion to put it right back in. Haha!)
