Northern Environments are DONE!?!

Y'all, the Northern half of my world's environment art is done. Now to be clear, that's just backgrounds -- it does not include particles, set dressing, monsters, or NPCs yet. But we gotta celebrate every milestone!

I'm actually currently debating whether I want to split my game into two games... Why?

#1 -- Scope: I want to have SOMETHING out by the end of this journey. If I don't finish in time, there was no point to this.

#2 -- Lower Price Point: I could break my big, expensive game into two cheaper games. I know the economy is bad and my audience is broke XD

#3 -- Experience Growth: After releasing a first game, I'd presumably have more experience to bring into the second game to improve it. Not to mention that YOU all may enjoy the experience more if you are forced to chew your food and think about it.

But I did see in the poll that like 40% of you wouldn't buy an episodic game. AND ALSO, I might accidentally split my audience. And that could be ill-advised. So that's good data to have!

So while I chew on this decision, I'm gonna work on banking YouTube videos. We're doing some more videos on marketing and market research for the summer! And then this Autumn's theme is gonna be "Writing Lore!" If you have any particular preferences on how I cover these topics, speak now or forever hold your peace!

Lastly, irl stuff: My mental health seems to have stablized, thanks to a kind comment on Tumblr. (That's how you know it was bad lol but shoutout to my gamedev community on Tumblr!) AND my wonderful fiancé has just found like a year's worth of fieldwork. And you know what that means for me? I'm MOVING SOON! 😱 So I also have SO MUCH packing to do now 🫠🫠🫠 But it's going to be an adventure (and more importantly, it'll reduce my costsssss 💜), so I'm very excited!
